Mishti Doi in Oven....Sweet Yogurt...

Monday, March 2, 2015

My first post for 2015..(I know its march !!) This one is for everyone with a sweet tooth. The very   famous bengali dessert mishti doi or sweetened yogurt. This is also officially my favorite dessert.

The Ingredients: 1 cup milk, 1 cup yogurt, 1 tin evapourated milk(150 ml), 1 tin condensed milk(400 ml), 1 tsp cardamom powder.

Start by heating milk, evapourated milk, and condensed milk no need to boil.

You will now preheat the oven at 350F. Next, take yogurt and whisk it. When the milk cools down a bit, combine them.

Add freshly grounded cardamom powder for flavor.

Transfer into a bowl or ramekins. I took a huge soup bowl in a baking tray and filled it with hot    water.

Once the oven gets heated up, turn it OFF!! Place the bowl inside the warm oven and cover with      foil and leave it in oven the whole night. Note again, oven should be turned OFF!! The warmth of  oven helps in the yougurt mixture to set and if you stay in a warm place this can be kept on gas top  overnight. Next day allow this to chill in refrigerator for few hours before serving and garnish with  nuts of your choice.
