Vegan Avocado Chocolate Smoothie | Avocado Banana MilkShake

Friday, September 11, 2015

I personally love some real heavy duty breakfast every single day. We try to eat all traditional Kerala style breakfast that we have grown up eating like Idlis, Dosas, Appams etc. On days when that is not feasible I like to have really creamy and thick smoothies. This healthy ,creamy and easy to make smoothie is one among them. Trust me when I say you will not be tasting any avocados in it and also for all those trying to be gluten free and vegan, this avocado smoothie is a must try.

Have you guys noticed this sudden craze of adding avocados in all desserts that are vegan like the chocolate avocado mousse, cookies and so many other things. I remember some time back(and even now) how adding black beans paste to make flourless dessert was the in thing. I had a lot of Filipino colleagues at work, who used them extensively.

This smoothie is fairly very easy to make and requires the least amount of preparation. I am not an early bird and on most rushing days, this is my saviour. I have not used any form of artificial sweetener here. Just pitted Medjool Dates(get here). Also, make sure to use good quality cocoa powder(get here) for extremely rich and chocolatey taste and texture.

You can get as creative as you like by adding rolled oats, greens, chia seeds etc. I had posted a Mango Spinach Green Smoothie some time back. Did you guys try that yet? If yes, please let me know, i would love to add them in my reader's testimonial album in my face book page.

Also, i have joined in bloglovin and need your love and support there. Please follow me at my BlogLovin page. Below is the detailed and for the first time ever, printable recipe on Forks N Knives. Hope you all like it.
