Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino Recipe

Tuesday, September 29, 2015
Learn how to make Starbucks inspired Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino with only 5 ingredients.

How is Fall treating you all?? As always, America has gone into Pumpkin Frenzy. All i see is pumpkins and more pumpkins everywhere!! You can say i am joining the bandwagon!!! Last week, some of us had Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks. Here is a very frank review- it was very very sweet. I doubt there was pumpkin in it. I am assuming there was some artificial flavor and it was kind of fake. That being said, there were others who totally enjoyed getting their sugar fix of the day. Some one even commented, I bet this is the most popular Starbucks drink among-st girls right now. Hell No!!! Not me!!!

I have experimented and come up with this super easy recipe which needs just minimal ingredients. And guess what, this drink is already gluten free and can be made vegan also.

I remember the time me and my husband decided to try be vegan, not completely though, kind of partially. So he came up with this idea of not buying cow's milk anymore and using almond milk rather. This guy is a tea addict. You can give him tea any number of times in a day, he will never ever say NO!!! More the merrier!! Indian Masala Chai does not go well with Almond, Cashew, Coconut Milk. Trust me, it does not!!
Once the tea was ready, after just one sip, we kind of looked at each other. No questions asked, there was cow's milk by next day in the refrigerator. No offence my vegan friends. I still buy Almond milk every week for smoothies. Smoothies are best with dairy free milk and we like them that way. How do you use them? Shoot me a comment below.

I came across this fantastic recipe by Sally for the frappa some time back. Personally i like the taste better when pumpkin is cooked rather than just mixing it with milk. As mentioned before, you can totally make this vegan by using a dairy free milk and agave or maple syrup. It is best to use coffee brewed and chilled a day before. I have tried using instant coffee also and it equally works well.

Home-made 1 tsp pumpkin spice mix is 1/4th tsp ground nutmeg, 1/4th tsp ground cinnamon, 1/4th tsp ground ginger, 1/4th tsp ground cloves.

I have some pumpkin puree left, what next? A cheesecake maybe? Do you know of any recipes with pumpkin puree? Let me know in comments below.

  14. Hi dear, thank you the lovely words on my blog. I personally feel pumpkin spice is a hype. But I love your take on it. And also we food bloggers are like consumers...spell a new buzz word and we mug it up. I think it's very good to follow a trend.
    Best regards,
    Roy xoxo
